Common Pet Toxic Medications, Household Items & Plants

Human medications, ADHD meds, antidepressants, heart medications etc. are also commonly prescribed to pets in various dosages. An overdose of these medications can cause your pet to suffer significant side effects-some being long term internal damage. Please keep all medications, prescription and over the counter, in a safe place out of your pet's reach.

  • Grapes
  • Xylitol-often found in sugar free products
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Alcohol
  • Caffeinated drinks
  • Raw yeast dough
  • Raw or undercooked meat
  • Pesticides or Rodenticides -products designed to kill rodents & insects are particularly harmful to pets who may be tempted to eat them.
  • Fertilizers that contain toxic chemicals or bone/blood meal that are tempting can cause pancreatitis in pets.
